Over the past couple of years RHS has been known in the past for having a great Pom Pon team and they have just been getting better. This year’s team features 18 dancers. Out of the 18, all classes except for the freshmen class are represented.

These girls only practice four times a week but they are always able to nail their routines. Only a week into the school year, and they have their pep rally routine ready to go and are also working on the music to use in their routine in competitions. “Our team is very lucky to have great dancers and we will be sure to place in competition,” said senior captain Kurie Fitzgerald.

With seniors being the majority of the team, the underclassmen have great leaders they can learn from to improve their skills. Senior Tiffany Mast is a four-year pom dancer and has tons of experience that will benefit the team along with Fitzgerald who is another excellent performer.

This team of Lady Rams work on their routines everyday. Their determination can also be seen during their mile at practice. After which, they do a full routine, along with music from the marching band to get ready for half-time shows at this years football games.

“It was hard trying to choose people to be on the team because only three new girls tried out. We look for girls with dancing ability and who will fit in with the rest of the team,” says Fitzgerald. If they would have had to start from scratch and teach the girls how to dance they may not have been in as good shape as they are now with their routines.

The next football game is September 7, and the Pom Pons will be there cheering on the guys at half time. Any fan can get a glimpse at football games of what is to come for this years Poms and see if all their hard work will benefit them in the end.
