Lanae Hale Review
By Laura Cooper-Martin

As some of you may know, every week, iTunes chooses an “Artist of the Week” and their single can be downloaded for free. A past “Artist of the Week” is Lanae’ Hale. Before I downloaded the song, I looked at the reviews and noticed that the single, titled “Spring Again,” had an average rating of 3 stars! When the song finally finished downloading, I was impressed. “Spring Again” has simple lyrics, yet they can be interpreted in many different ways. After listening to the song a few more times, I searched on iTunes to see if Hale had any more songs, and in fact, there was a self titled EP which I purchased without hesitation.

Hale’s EP has a total of six songs, all of which have unique lyrics and excellent rhythms. My personal favorite of the EP was “Quiet Place;” a song that is relaxing and thought-provoking. Some songs have cliché lyrics, such as “Love Is Worth the Fight,” but it still has an upbeat rhythm to it, which can be enjoying.

Despite some cliché lyrics, Hale has a beautiful, raspy voice with incredible range that can easily be compared to KT Tunstall. If you are into the heavy metal, hard rock type of music, then I strongly advise you not to listen to her. However, Hale is perfect for those who enjoy calm music with more of a Christian vibe.

So, unlike those on iTunes who bashed her single, “Spring Again,” I would give Hale five stars. Her rhythms, heart-felt lyrics, and angelic voice should not be ignored, because without a doubt the music business will see more of Lanae’ Hale.
