Boys Lax Fights, Loses to Springbrook in High-Scoring Match

The Rockville Rams boys lacrosse team faced off against Springbrook on Friday, April 26. The game was close until the finish, but Springbrook was able to come away with the victory.

Junior J.T. Doyle started off the game with an impressive shot, running the length of the field then scoring. He pulled off the same move later in the second half of the game.

As Springbrook gained control and took the lead, sophomore Nolan Gumucio scored two more goals for the Rams. Gumucio transferred to Rockville this year from Saint John’s High School, and has already proved to be an extremely valuable player to the Rams lacrosse team.

At half time, Rockville trailed by a goal, 4-3, with hopes to come back and claim a victory.

Senior Kellen Cremins, along with a few other players, scored during the second half to bring the score to 10-9 with three minutes left in the game.

In the end however, Springbrook triumphed over the Rams, the final score being 11-9. The boys’ next game is on Tuesday, April 28 against Poolesville at 7 p.m, and the squad looks to recover and look ahead as playoffs loom
