Review of Lady Rams’ Varsity Basketball Versus Wheaton

The Varsity girls’ basketball team ended their game on Friday Dec. 19th with a win against the Wheaton Knights. The Lady Rams notched their first win of the season beating the Knights 50-29 at Wheaton HS. The win gives them a 1-4 record.

The game started out slowly with tough defense being played on both sides of the court and a majority of the shots not finding the bottom of the net. As the game progressed RHS settled down and started putting points on the board. The renewed effort showed at half time with the Rams boasting a 16 point lead. The Lady Rams continued their offensive dominance and demonstrated strong defense throughout the rest of the game.

Guards, junior Hazel Carmona and senior Megan Anderson, led the team in scoring. Both players scored in double figures to ensure the Rams success against this divisional rival.

Junior Anna Weiler said, “I think the game went really well. We just keep on improving and we definitely deserved this first win. I know there will be many more to come.”
